http://www.cambridgeincolour.com/tutorials/white-balance.htm I read the article "Understanding White Balance" from Cambridge in Colour. The article gives an in depth description of what White Balance is and the effects that it has on picture quality. It also gives techniques to customarily setting white balance and automatically setting it. I chose this article because I wanted to know more about white balance, the details that comes with it, and why its important.
The article explained that white balance is the process of removing unrealistic color casts, so that objects which appear white in person are rendered white in your photo. When setting white balance, it is advised to use a neutral white reference as a focal point. It prevents your pictures from having a blue-ish or tan color. I didn't realized how much of a difference white balancing makes on pictures. I will definitely take more consideration in setting the white balance in the future.
