Liberty University 2015 FACS Fashion Show: Cotton Couture

Over the course of the past year,  I've had the opportunity to document and cover the FACS Fashion show again.  My sister, Janique directed it this year and did an absolutely amazing job, so when it came time for the actual show, I was pretty excited to see the final touches.

While I personally am not really informed with fashion (I had to ask a friend what a peplum shirt was haha) it was cool to see the creativity and inspiration of the designers and how they related their designs to things that were influenced by nature.  Everyone has gifts and talents that are displayed in different ways.

Anyways, I wanted to share some of the shots that I captured from the day! It ranges from some of the prep shots and then the actual fashion show!

Sararose

This blog is another one that is long overdue that I completely missed of Sararose!

Sararose was my quadmate during my junior year at Liberty.  She's awesome. All the late random conversations I'd have with her and her roommates or any other girl on my hall in our quad are definitely hilarious! Ha I was cleaning my room a week ago and found a quote book that we made for the hall.  Sararose I have to say is probably one of the most genuine people I know.  She speaks her mind, is focused, but is also very warming and friendly to anyone she comes across.  I could go on about how awesome she is, but then I would forget about showing you the pictures from this session! ;)

Anyways, I have a confession about this session.  It was the first that I've done in Camera Raw. I know, shooting in Jpeg is equivalent to the photographer's sin, but when I decided to finally do it, I've never looked back!

Well, we decided to go to downtown Lynchburg by Waterstone.  My internship was a block away and one day I drove that route home and realized that was the place I wanted to do her session! I loved it especially because I felt it fit her look and personality the most (other than a meadow).  Here are some of my favorites!

Cassia-Senior

I'm super excited about getting this blog post up today!  I was itching to doing some shooting and I had asked my friend, Cassia if she would like to have her senior portraits done.

Cassia was one of my Spiritual Life Directors on my hall during my Junior year at Liberty and we both graduated together this year.  Due to our crazy schedules, we definitely managed to get this one in!

I'm really excited to share some of my favorites with you all.  Cassia is really photogenic and I had a blast shooting this session with her!

Liberty University FACS Fashion Show

Although I have had the edits for these completed for a few weeks, I for one am really excited to finally be able to post these!

I've had the opportunity to be the Photographer for the entire process leading up to the fashion show this year and I had a blast!

I think most of all, I enjoyed editing these more than taking them.  I really took a different creative approach to fit the tone than what I would usually do with my portraits. Because, let's be honest, some of the editing that I did with this are ones that I would NEVER do with my portraits.  I just really liked the way these turned out!

Personally, I was not very much aware of everything it takes to execute a fashion show of this caliber, but I definitely learned! They started the process back in September of last semester for the show in April.  This 7 month process definitely was evident in the directors' and designers' final product.

What was very interesting about this Fashion Show was it's theme: Go Green, Go Glam.  The criteria for the designers was that they had to design clothing where the majority of the material used was recycled.  The designers definitely pulled it off and made some amazing things!

Well, let me stop talking and show you!

I'll start with some of my favorites from the preparation!

Then of course was the Fashion Show.  I absolutely loved editing these! I wish that I could show them all, but here are some of my favorites!

Liberty University FACS Fashion Show Sneak Peek

I took so many amazing pictures over the past few days that I'm going to be posting several sneak peeks over the next few weeks.  But here is a few from the Fashion Show from the weekend!
