I've pretty much been shooting a lot lately, as we know. It's just the days are longer and I have more time to get outside. Photography is life-giving to
So I work at Church Street Bridal part time. It's pretty fun. You have so many different types of brides coming in and out of the shop, but then a lot of days it's very relaxing and you have a chance to just sit back and work on some organizational/inventory paperwork
One of the things I love most about photography is that you really cannot 100% master it. There is always something new to learn and be challenged by.
I've had the opportunity to shoot a lot more weddings this year - 2nd shooting some and leading my own. What I love most about second shooting in particular is that I can just learn from those who have been doing this longer. So for one of the weddings I second shot, the lead used off camera flash. For some reason the idea of off camera flash scared me. But when I saw her setup, I realized that it probably isn't as difficult as I thought it is.
Literally the next day I bought some triggers, stands, and more lights and I had a light kit. Then I got a few people to volunteer and model for me.
Katey was my first one. I've had classes with her during undergrad. She's super talented and loves being in front of the camera as a broadcaster, so obviously she's natural and comfortable in front of the camera. We went to Randolph college at 8:30 in the evening so that I could figure out proper lighting direction and power. It took a bit, but we definitely got a few good shots!
Here are a few of my favorites!
The fact that I got these done in a reasonable amount of time makes me so happy! I usually like to finish edit my shoots right after I finish shooting them, but this time I was unable to and it was driving me crazy!
Erin & Kaylee are wonderful. Erin was one of the Prayer Leaders on my hall and Kaylee is her roommate. I really enjoyed having them on my hall because I have had the opportunity to see their lives grow, see them interact with joy towards other people, as well as just simply enjoy the little things in life! It's crazy to think that this year is over! I wish I had more time!
On Tuesday, I took Erin & Kaylee to Riverside Park for a shoot. We had a blast! Here are some of my favorites!
